About Me

Hi!

My name is Tracy. I am 40 years old and live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I’ve been married to Andrew for 19 years and together we raise our 5 beautiful children: Amie (21), Jess (17), Cael (7) and Cadence (5), and Ezra (2). The children have been home-educated from birth and Andrew runs his own business from a home office, so we call ourselves a “24 hour family”.

I have learnt so much from what others have willingly shared of themselves on blogs and websites I follow. Tea With Tracy is my way of joining in and making a contribution. Over the years I’ve been asked many times if I had a blog and some requested I start one. Well, here it is, a place to share my thoughts and a bit of my life with anyone interested.

I love words and writing. I tend to think and feel deeply, and since childhood have expressed these thoughts and feelings in journals and letters, and am now trepidatiously ready to share some of these ramblings with others. I enjoy engaging with the issues that face us today, and believe if we talked a bit, listened, and sought to understand, our world would be a kinder place. My hope is that whatever I share here will build up, encourage, strengthen, and equip.

In the virtual world it is easy, perhaps even tempting, to portray oneself unrealistically. I seek to be real and honest and accountable. I love God, and my faith underpins my perspective on everything I share here. I have a wide and eclectic range of interests; I trust you will draw on what is meaningful to you and simply move past what isn’t.

So, get a cup of tea (or brew of choice), pull up a chair, and join me. I’m glad you’re here. Thank you for dropping by.

(I have committed to keeping this blog a lower priority than Andrew, our children, our home and ministry – all of whom keep me quite busy – so if I write infrequently, please understand it is simply because I am needed more by those most important to me.)
